Activities Abroad offers adventure activity holidays for families to beautiful rural locations across the world. The holidays are designed to cater for families of all abilities from absolute beginners to experienced enthusiasts. A different activity or adventure sport is offered each day so that each member of the family can pick and choose the activities they prefer. The minimum age for the holidays starts at 8 years but this varies by holiday destination. Younger children are still able to travel. Activities Abroad also offer winter activity holidays in Finnish Lapland.

A different adventure activity is offered each day and the activities on offer vary by destination. A typical week might include the activity options of canadian canoeing, adventure walk and caving, canyoning, high ropes course and rock climbing and canoeing (example options are from the Ardeche holiday). Other activities available include mountain biking, tubing and whitewater rafting.

France: Morzine.

Chilly Powder operates two chalets with a total of 24 en-suite bedrooms, including a number of family suites. Each chalet offers an outdoor jacuzzi, games room, sauna and bar.

Family Sports: Trekking, pony trekking, tennis, kayaking, fishing, go karting, summer tobogganing, grass scooters, orienteering, trekking with donkeys, ice skating, quad biking, paintball and an Adventure Park.

Creche: For babies and toddlers, Chilly Powder have an in-house crèche run by a team of qualified nannies taking children of any age. The crèche has a kitchenette, bathroom, bedroom and two play areas separating babies and toddlers. It is equipped with bottle warming and sterilizing equipment. There are plenty of toys, games and creative play kits.

France: Bareges in the French Pyrenees.

3-star accommodation is provided in a newly restored 18th century stone house situated in the heart of Bareges village. The chalet can accommodate up to 14 people in 5 en-suite bedrooms, including one family suite, which sleeps 4 -7 people. The chalet has a spacious lounge with bar, books & games and big-screen home cinema. There is also a heated equipment room, sauna and sunny patio with mountain views. Accommodation is on a half-board basis (B&B on request).

Cycling and Mountain Biking: Winding roads and rugged trails of the Pyrenees. Road support and transfers available. Bareges is just below the Col du Tourmalet, and regularly features in the Tour de France.

Canyoning: Day trips, long weekends and full-week canyoning holidays. Discover the canyons of the French and Spanish Pyrenees. Abseiling, sliding, jumping and climbing...every which way!

The itinerary can be tailored to suit the interests and abilities of your family. Multi activity weeks are suitable for children over 8 years old, and ideal for families with teenagers looking for an adventure.

Private childcare is available with local babysitters. The village activity centre is open to children aged 4 and above during the school holidays (Christmas, New Year, February, July & August).

Summer Family Activity Weeks: 8 years.

A choice of properties is available to suit individual requirements. The accommodation ranges from the luxury catered Chalet des Montagnes, the luxury Chalet Madeleine available on a catered or self-catered basis, two self catered apartments and the traditional, family run Chalet-Hotel la Chaumiere. All catered properties have either outdoor jacuzzi, sauna or swimming pool. The properties are all located in quiet areas with no through traffic and have pleasant gardens with outdoor games e.g. table tennis, boules, badminton etc. A range of baby equipment is also available including cots, baby linen, stairgates, child car seats, booster seats, plastic crockery and cutlery. There are also indoor and outdoor games, videos and DVDs.

Simply Morzine offers a flexible itinerary of activities for your holiday which you can choose to suit your individual requirements and budget. There are a range of alpine sports and other activities to choose from, as well as sightseeing excursions.

Alpine sports: Trekking and mountaineering, white-water rafting, white-water hot-dogging, white-water hydrospeeding, canyoning, wakeboarding and waterskiing, mountain biking, via ferrata, rock climbing, paragliding, bungee jumping, fantasticable, quad biking, hot air ballooning, caving.

There is no minimum age for the holidays. Some of the individual activities have minimum height, weight and/or age restrictions.

There is an excellent ‘maison de l’enfant’ offering half-day or full-day care (with lunch) for children aged between 3 months and 6 years. It’s open four days a week in the summer and 7 days a week in winter. The centre has several light indoor areas, sleeping and dining rooms, outdoor play areas and they do a variety of activities with the children including arts and crafts, games and nature trails. There are also crèche facilities, available every week day in most villages and a babysitting service at any time.
