Undiscovered Alps

Undiscovered Alps logo

Undiscovered Alps is a family business specialising in skiing and winter activity holidays in a beautiful and little known part of the Southern French Alps. The region is a quiet, friendly, family destination making it ideal for family winter fun.  There are all sorts of activities you can do in the snow, snowshoeing, husky dog sledging, ski joering (being pulled along on your skis by a horse), snow mountain biking and snowscoot as well as snowboarding, cross country and alpine skiing. For skiing and piste sports there are four small village stations that are well geared up for children –  small enough that they won't get lost or have to stand in long lift queues and big enough to feel adventurous. And, for those who want a bigger challenge there is the large ski resort of Orcieres at the top of the valley with over 100km of piste, a snow park, slalom course and its own special children’s area. There’s also an igloo village you can visit and stay the night in on the top. Undiscovered Alps will tailor make your perfect family skiing or winter activity holiday. These are very pretty and quiet with between 10 and 15 ski lifts, no lift queues and are very friendly and safe – perfect for beginners and children. They all have ESF ski schools and child care facilities.

Cross-country skiing: Cross-country skiing is a beautiful way to explore an area and there is an extensive network of over 200km of cross-country routes passing through some of the most stunning parts of the Champsaur and Valgaudemar valleys. Full or half day group and individual ski lessons are available with English speaking instructors.

For non-skiing children between 6 and 11, the club offers sledging, swimming, arts & crafts workshops etc. during the Christmas and February holidays.
